So… what are some good ideas for a Valentine Gift For Teachers?
It seems like all the good ideas have been done and you want to think of something different. You can go the traditional route and give a gift with a twist to make it unique.
Or, you can leave the traditional behind and give a gift that no one has ever thought of before.
- Flowers are always appreciated, by either woman or man. You can never go wrong with the traditional and lovely plant or bouquet of flowers. But, how about something more permanent? How about a plant in a large dish garden with tiny rocks that spells out “Favorite Teacher or Best Teacher”.
- Candy is a very traditional teacher gift. But a box of chocolates is a box of chocolates… unless it’s from Russia. Or Tibet. Or a little known town in the southwest corner of Pennsylvania.

Number One Teacher Cookie Bouquet
The idea is to make the traditional teachers gift something that is usual so they know what to expect but that is also a little bit different… so now you have the unexpected.
- Is this special teacher an outdoors type? How about a personalized backpack or water bottle cozy? What about a photo of your child with the teacher on some school outing? Put it in a special frame that you’ve had personalized.
- Maybe you have your heart set on jewelry. Not a bad idea. But jazz it up. Make it unique. Try not to look for another charm with an apple that says “#1 Teacher”. My sister is a teacher… and she has gobs of this type of jewelry. It’s just isn’t special anymore. How about earrings with dogs or cats dangling? Or a necklace with their name or the year personalized on a charm?
- Coffee Mug - Any teacher, who really loves teaching, and is on your Valentines Day shopping list will enjoy a large sturdy mug proclaiming their true passion for teaching.
This super sized beverage mug is big enough to provide that extra sip, or will just help avoid spills of his/her favorite drink.
At a super 15 ounces this ceramic mug also has an easy grip handle to help your favorite teacher with their drink on those too early mornings.
The mug is also dishwasher safe for easy cleaning, and microwave safe so their coffee or tea can be warmed up between classes.
The graphic reads ” Those who can do Magic… become Teachers.”

Try to be creative, but not over the top. Expensive gifts usually embarrass the teacher. Combine an old idea with some new twist. Valentine Gifts for Teachers should be a fun way for your child to express his fondness for his favorite teacher.

St. Valentine’s Day really is a traditional day for lovers but love comes in many sizes, shapes and forms. We love our mates or our partners but we also love our parents, our grandparents, our children, and others who have had great influence in our lives. St. Valentine’s Day provides us with an opportunity to tell these other people that we love them and that we appreciate them.
By all means, send the love of your life a dozen red roses, a box of exotic chocolates, a bottle of vintage Champaign and plan a wonderful intimate evening but don’t forget to acknowledge others that you also love.

On Valentine’s Day this year it is expected that there will be more than $1,590,000 spent on heart shaped boxes of chocolate. There will likely be more than 36 million boxes of chocolate sold. Giving Chocolate for Valentines Day is ranked only number two on the list of Valentine’s Day gifts…just behind roses.
So how is it that giving chocolate as a Valentine gift became a tradition? It is rather hard to say but commercial candy making developed during the early nineteenth century with the advancement of automation and the discovery of sugar beet juice.
The human craving for sweets can probably be attributed to the first caveman who robbed a bee hive. The famous Shakespearean quote, “Sweets to the sweet” is one that often accompanies boxes of chocolates or other candies given to women by the men who love them on Valentine’s Day.
From Wikipedia.org: In the second half of the twentieth century, the practice of exchanging cards was extended to all manner of gifts in the United States, usually from a man to a woman. Such gifts typically include roses and chocolates. In the 1980s, the industry began to promote Valentine’s Day as an occasion for giving jewelry.
Humans love sweets of all kinds but they especially love chocolate. The rest of the world loves chocolate but Americans REALLY love chocolate. As a matter of fact the very first commercial chocolate factory was built in New England twenty years before the American Independence was declared and the American Revolutionary War was fought.
Americans love chocolate and they will consume more than 3 BILLION pounds of it this year. Chocolate will be the number one selling candy this Valentines Day season.
Coming in second are those little pastel colored hearts that are inscribed with love messages. These little hearts are called “conversation hearts” and have such inscriptions as “Luv U” or “Go Away” printed on them.
